Washington!

Hey there. How ya doing?

Me, I'm good. Besides being quite tired (I haven't been sleeping well lately), I'm good.

So, yeah, I'm in Washington right now. Everett, to be specific. Visiting relatives again. It's nice. We got here yesterday in time for supper, and are leaving on Wednesday. So it'll be a break from home, but we'll be back home in time for new year's eve.

Speaking of which, anybody have any exciting plans? Me, not really. Stay home. Drink sparkling cider. Watch a movie, maybe some tv shows, perhaps try and finish Dear John if I haven't by then. That's usually what happens every year, actually. Some cousins from Ridgefield were going to come down, but that I think that plan bombed... meaning, I don't think their parents wanted to come down. Ha ha. But who knows, some of them still might.

Yup yup... stuff... oh yeah! Christmas is over. I had a great one, with family, remembering the real reason of the season (but of course, you can't have Christmas without that), and lots of fun. Also I got some great presents, which added to the happy time. ;)

Wow, I actually have TIME to post now! It's a strange feeling. But nice, also. I always have tons of free time when we come up here, since the grownups are usually reminiscing about old times (I do join them sometimes, but eventually I get tired...), and my brothers play legos or video games (same about the joining). So I end up spending a lot of time on the internet. Usually Facebook, gmail, blogs (like now), YouTube... stuff like that. And the free YouTube access is nice. No password! Woot!

Oh, and it might snow while we're up here. ^_^ The weather forcast said probably not, but hey, they can be wrong! We passed some snow on the side of the road on our way up here. At least, my mom says it was snow. My sister swears it was frost. Whatever, it's cool.

I've run out of stuff to say, so here's a cool and pretty picture that I found (thank you, google!).

Can you feel it?

>> Tuesday, December 22, 2009

Hey! Can you really believe that December 25th is almost here? Some days I sure can't. Especially since the temperature outside is - I just checked - 41 degrees Fahrenheit.

That's not SO warm, I guess, but it was warmer earlier. And compared to last week when it was dropping down to maybe, oh, 10 degrees Fahrenheit, it just seems a tad bit warm.

Yup.

Oh well, I have all my presents ready at least, all except one, that is. I still don't have my little brother's, because they just don't seem to have it in stores! But hopefully I'll get it tomorrow, and if not, then I'll just have to get him something else. =/

I just finished my mom's present today. I've been working on it for a while! I won't say what it is yet (even though I'm pretty sure she doesn't read this, she just might) but I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. Yay!

I'd better go now (being an internet hog again) so bye!

Merry CHRISTmas everyone!!

Hey there. Blogging time again!

Yesterday I had the great experience of going to the Narnia Ballet that Hosanna Dance puts on every year (I think this was the 7th annual performance). I've gone before, but this year it was extra special, because I had even more friends in it than usual. And also, two of the main characters (Peter and Susan) were played by friends.
Everybody did an amazing job! I'm not much for just straight-on ballet, but when they turn it into more like a play, and have the Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe story, I like it a lot better. So yes, it was awesome.

Also my friend Hannah took our family picture on Sunday. I haven't seen them yet, but I sure hope they turned out well! (Especially since we're sending it out in our Christmas letter, so a ton of people are going to see it... yeah, it had BETTER be good!)
But Hannah is a great photographer, and she has an amazing camera, so I'm sure that they'll be good. Yup yup.

Oh, yeah, I changed the name of this blog. Just felt like it. A change of pace is good every now and then (and no, the weird capitalizing in it is not a mistake. Try and figure it out).

Ooh ooh, I went Christmas shopping today! I love shopping. Wait, did I really just say that??
Let me rephrase:
I love shopping sometimes.
There, that's MUCH better. But I was in the mood for shopping. So I bought presents for my dad, one of my big brothers, and I ordered something for my sister. I also know what I'm getting everyone else in my family. Yay!

I was gonna post more, but I kind of ran out of time. So. I might post again tomorrow. Bye!!

Hey it's kinda late so I'm gonna fall asleep in a little while, but
just thought I'd take the time to say YAY BELLA!!

I got home from her concert a while ago, and she was awesome.
Seriously, it was amazing. And she was beautiful as always, of course.
=D

Well, yeah, I had a good time! Oh yeah, and my cousin 'Jake' got to
officially meet her for the first time. That was sorta cool.

Bye now! Bed time!

Hey 'sup... I really don't feel like posting right now, so I don't even know why I opened the tab... heheheh. I guess I felt like posting a while ago.

I'm tired, it's making me feel dead. I almost fell asleep twice today. And I was gonna take a nap but I decided to watch another episode of Monk instead.

I recently downloaded all the episodes of Skillet's video podcast from iTunes (Skillet is my favorite band). There was around 53 episodes, I guess.
I watched them all.
Over, like, two days.

Yup.

I need a life!

Actually, the past week has been pretty busy (busy by my standards, at least). And I have busy weekends. Next weekend I'm going to Bells' concert, and then I get to hang out with her (oh wait, I still need to call her and talk about it...), and then I want to go to the Narnia ballet that weekend because I have a ton of friends in it. Then the weekend after that is the Camp Harlow staff reunion on Fri-Sat and on Sunday I'm going somewhere with my youth group. And after that is Christmas, of course.

So it's a kind of busy month! But they're fun busy things.

I'm tired of blogging right now. So that's all.

"I'll be the one who makes you laugh, makes up for the memories that make you sad"

>> Wednesday, December 2, 2009

Ahh! This song is stuck in my head (Wishes and Dreams by Stellar Kart). It's AMAZING. I'm gonna put it on the playlist, if I can find it. Here're the lyrics:

I'm watching you from a scenic view
Taking in your every move
Who you tried so hard to be
Full of wishes and dreams that did not come true for you

I can read you like a book
Sad stories everywhere I look
Faded pictures remind you when
What could have been
Did not come true for you
Did not come true for you

I'll be the one who makes you laugh
Make up for the memories that made you sad
Me and you together
Forever we could be
Someday you will find me
In all your wishes and dreams

Is it so hard to believe
what your eyes cannot see?
Your dream come true
A love to fall into
I'm waiting to show you
I'm waiting to show you

I'll be the one who makes you laugh
Make up for the memories that made you sad
Me and you together
Forever we could be
Someday you will find me
In all your wishes and dreams

Na na na [x8]

I'll be the one who makes you laugh
Make up for the memories that made you sad
Me and you together
Forever we could be
Someday you will find me
In all your wishes and dreams

I love it! It's awwwesome! =D

Stellar Kart is a really good band. I've been listening to them a lot lately, and I remembered how much I like them. I've seen them in concert, too. Mwahahaha.

Hmm, wow, I guess I'm in a good mood. Well I suppose I'm having a pretty good day! =)

Tonight I'll probably be going to a friend's choir concert. I sure hope that I can go, I went to all her concerts last year, I think. And they're amazing. And she's a senior, so I want to go to all these ones, too!

The women's dessert was really fun yesterday. The desserts are always SO rich, though, I can never finish it. My friend Haley went, along with some of my mom's friends. It was nice. Also, Shannon and two of her friends (her roommate and her brother) sang at it. Kevin would have also, except he had his dress rehearsal for his choir. Wow, tonight is a concert... tomorrow is Kevin's concert... the 11th is Logos concert... crazy! It must be concert season. =P

Um um, I think that's all for now.

Okay, so, here's what went on yesterday.

I finished my novel - so I thought.

I don't feel like going into any detail, but the format of my novel was all messed up, so it turned out that I actually didn't have 50,000 words yet. That was SO annoying! I thought I was finished, but, it wasn't! Argggh.

But, today I thought of another good thousand words, so I wrote them down, and TODAY...

I'M REALLY TRULY FINISHED!!

Yay!

I also made a blog that is solely for the novel, and it'll be available starting tomorrow.

So I'll post a link to it - tomorrow.

I don't feel like typing any more, so, that's all for now!

What's been going on

>> Saturday, November 28, 2009

Wow, I haven't posted in a long time. Sorry about that. I've been kind of busy, I guess.

Right now I'm listening to Flyleaf's new CD, Memento Mori, while my sister's cat (Sherbert) is on my lap. He's so cute. I got back from Washington today, and I missed my kitties!!

I had a lot of fun in Washington, though. My family (besides my sister who went later) left around 9 on Thursday morning. And we just got back this afternoon. It was a great visit, but I'm always happy to return home.

Also November is over in TWO days!! WOW! That also means my novel is almost finished.
Whoaaaa. It's seriously so close, it's crazy. I only have about 4,000 words left to write. Crazy! But I'm also really glad, actually. It'll be nice to take a break from working so hard on it. And I would say my novel isn't that great, but that's exactly the kind of thing I'm NOT supposed to say (almost all the pep talks say that, ha ha. It's something I struggle most with).

On a random side note, I love car trips. Really. Not the extremely long ones, but average ones (like today and Thursday's 2 and a half hour one. Actually that was a bit short). To me, they're just a time that I can sit and relax and listen to music. I know lots of people really don't like car trips, but that's not me! I like them! Especially on the way there. The way home isn't as good, but still, I like them. Hmm.

I really want to talk to one of my cousins, but neither of them are online right now. That's sad.

Well, I think posting on here has helped me. I was starting to feel a bit depressed but now I'm feeling pretty good (just tired, of course). I think maybe some ranting helped me. Heh heh. And Flyleaf's music is always amazing. I want to buy the CD sometime... maybe I'll get it for Christmas?

Oh, and I know what kind of better digital camera I want (I've wanted a better one for some time. The one I have now isn't very good at all, and I bought it way before I knew anything about cameras. So I want a good one). It's a... let me check... (I can't exactly remember the name, but it's a really good one that two of my cousins have) ah, here it is. A Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS15K 12.1 MP Digital Camera.

Or one close to that. Yup. They bought theirs for $160 but I think I might be able to get it for cheaper. Good thing, since I'm completely HORRIBLE at saving up money. But I think it's about time I tried really hard. I'll probably have to start saving up for it at Christmas, though, since I need to save up the money I have to buy presents. Oh well, whatever, I also need to learn patience.

So this whole thing will be really good for me! Ha ha. I'll learn patience, the skill of saving money, and I'll be able to take better pictures! Sounds good to me!!

Well, sorry for such a long post. I just felt like talking (typing...).

TTYL, or as Tigger would say (because Tigger is awesome) TTFN! Ta ta for now!!

Just a few peptalk notes

>> Thursday, November 12, 2009

Heeeeeyyy!

Yeah, hi.

So, I'm gonna go to bed soon, but I just wanted to say a few things since I might not get a chance on the computer in the next few days.

I get these peptalks from NaNoWriMo, see? (I'm actually reading one right now). I usually get one or two a week. And they're very cool and VERY helpful, and often also very funny! I got one written by Gail Carson Levine, who is an awesome author in my opinion, and it was just so amazing I have to share it. So here's the whole thing, read it if you want, I think it's awesome. At least read the list of tips she gives (and I've actually done a few of them myself!!). Here it is!

Dear NaNoWriMo-ers,

I'm not even the tortoise of writing. I'm the slug. And you are more than hares, you're cheetahs — writing at seventy miles an hour. I have to fictionalize even to talk to you.

So it's October 31st. I’m back from trick or treating in a robot costume, worn to honor Isaac Asimov, who wrote or edited more than 500 books in his lifetime. After removing my tin head mask and my metallic gloves, I pig out on candy corn and think about today's accomplishments.

I dug a shallow grave in the backyard and buried my print thesaurus (starting tomorrow, the first word I think of is good enough, even if I use it seven times on every page), dictionary (who cares how ophthalmologist is spelled anyway?), usage books (I can figure out the difference between lie and lay later), encyclopedia, atlas, and my beloved books about writing. I taped blackout curtains over my windows. My techy friend spent hours tinkering with my computer. She's assured me that it will combust if I try to reestablish connections to the internet and email. The single thing I'm keeping is my cell phone in case I start to go into cardiac arrest, but the keys are smeared with battery acid, except the 9, the 1, and send. My family and friends and Meals-on-Wheels have sworn to deliver food to my door, which will be kept closed to protect the world from my intensifying body odor.

Now I tape my list of rules and advice (culled from friends, my mom, the buried writing books, and, mostly, my own hyped-up imagination) to the wall next to my desk.

Now I tape my list of rules and advice (culled from friends, my mom, the buried writing books, and, mostly, my own hyped-up imagination) to the wall next to my desk.

-Sleep at least once a week.

-Eat at least once a day, but not constantly. Don't forget the essential fatty acids (Mom).

-If my fingers freeze from carpal tunnel syndrome, I have ten perfectly good toes, a nose, and quite a few teeth.

-When I'm not happy with how things are going, turn off the screen and keep typing. Don't turn it back on until the crisis is over.

-Don't check my word count more often than every fifteen minutes.

-Dream sequences can eat up a lot of pages, and they shouldn't be logical.

-Short words count just as much as long ones.

-The perfect is the enemy of the fast. The good is the enemy of the fast. The halfway decent is the enemy of the fast.

-When I run out of plot ideas, write about setting and what each character is wearing, in exquisite wordy detail. When I run out of setting and apparel, write about the voice quality of each speaker, speech mannerisms, facial ticks, body language.

-Keep my music loud enough to drown out my thoughts. Thinking is the enemy of speed.

-Remember the infinite-monkey theory: Endless keystrokes will eventually produce Shakespeare or at least words and maybe a story.

-Never edit.

-Never ever go back.

It's time for bed. I must get a good night's sleep, my last for a month. So of course I toss and turn until 3:00 am, when I realize the month has begun. I get up, stagger to the computer, and type, "It was a dark and stormy night." I’m on my way!

Now, seriously, not fictionalized, with all the earnestness I can command, here is the only important piece of advice, which is crucial for any speed of writing, any kind of writing: Do not beat up on yourself. Do not criticize your writing as lousy, inadequate, stupid, or any of the evil epithets that you are used to heaping on yourself. Such self-bashing is never useful. If you indulge in it, your writing doesn’t stand a chance. So when your mind turns on you, turn it back, stamp it down, shut it up, and keep writing.

Good luck!

Cow Town!!!

Today I went to COW TOWN!!!

Oh, whoops, I guess only one of you will know what that means. So let me start over...

Today I went to the LIBRARY!!

Yay! My card is still expired, but I have a kind sister who lets me use her card.
:D

I got some really good books, some that I've read before and some that I haven't.
One of them that I haven't read before is The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne.

I watched the movie last night, and it was SO GOOD. But also VERY sad. I almost cried at the end, and I never cry during movies. I also learned a lot from it. Great movie.

I really like what's written in the front cover of the book, so I'm going to write it here... :

The story of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is very difficult to describe. Usually we give some clues about the book on the jacket, but in this case we think that would spoil the reading of the book. We think it is important that you start to read without knowing what it is about.

If you do start to read this book, you will go on a journey with a nine-year-old boy called Bruno. (Though this isn't a book for nine-year-olds.) And sooner or later you will arrive with Bruno at a fence.

Fences like this exist all over the world. We hope you never have to encounter such a fence.

I can't wait to read it! Gotta go now. Bye!!

Fireflies

>> Saturday, November 7, 2009

Ever heard of the band Owl City? They're becoming pretty popular with their new single, Fireflies. I first heard it sometime last month, while listening to Pandora (which is awesome). It is a good song, I must admit I like it a lot. Here are the lyrics:

You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep
Cause they fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You'd think me rude, but I
Would just stand and stare.

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly.
It's hard to say that I'd
Rather stay awake when I'm asleep,
Cause everything is never as it seems.

Cause I'd get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightening bugs
As they tried to teach me how to dance.
A foxtrot above my head,
A sock-hop beneath my bed,
The disco ball is just hanging by a thread.

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly.
It's hard to say that I'd
Rather stay awake when I'm asleep,
Cause everything is never as it seems.
(When I fall asleep.)

Leave my door open just a crack.
(Please take me away from here.)
Cause I feel like such an insomniac.
(Please take me away from here.)
Why do I tire of counting sheep?
(Please take me away from here.)
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep
To ten million fireflies.
I'm weird, cause I hate goodbyes
I got misty eyes as they said farewell.
But I'll know where several are
If my dreams get real bizarre
Cause I saved a few,
And I keep them in a jar.

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly.
It's hard to say that I'd
Rather stay awake when I'm asleep,
Cause everything is never as it seems.
(When I fall asleep.)

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly.
It's hard to say that I'd
Rather stay awake when I'm asleep
Because my dreams are bursting at the seams

Anyway, I'm just saying this because it's stuck in my head. Ha ha, yup. I'm going to try and get it on the blog playlist when I have time. Bye for now!

Well, NaNoWriMo isn't as hard as I thought it would be. The hardest part is forcing myself to write even when I'm not inspired, something I don't usually have to do. And the other hard part is getting myself to like what I'm writing.

Yep.

Getting nervous!

>> Saturday, October 31, 2009

So, I must admit, I'm getting kind of nervous for NaNoWriMo.
Especially since I realized that I'll probably be going up to Washington for Thanksgiving like I do almost every year, and that means I'll have to try and fit my writing into that.
Can I really write 4 pages a day while I'm trying to hang out with my cousins?
I dunno.
I dunno if they'll let me, that is!
I mean, I could probably try and do my writing while they're doing their chores, but usually I help them out, and I don't want them to feel like I'm leaving them out or anything. So I guess I'll have to wait and see how it turns out. But I'll take my laptop just in case. ; )

I guess I also could always just write double time before of after Thanksgiving, but that would probably be pretty hard.

It starts tomorrow!!! Agh!! I'm probably not ready, oh wait, I KNOW I'm not ready, but whatever.
I'm gonna give this my best shot.

NaNoWriMo, here I come, be ready to be conquered!!!

Books and November!

>> Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Hey, so there was stuff I was going to put in my DA post on Tuesday, but I forgot (and didn't have time because my brother needed the computer).

So I'll just post it here, yay!

I was going to write more about re-reading... but I don't think I will.

What I'm wondering is, have you heard of NaNoWriMo?
If not, it means that November is the National Novel Writing Month.
If you decide to participate, the goal is to have written a novel (50,000 words) from scratch in the month of November, from the 1st-30th. There's a website with lots of information about it.
I heard about it from one of my cousins who has participated in it before, and I think it sounds really interesting.

Soooo I have officially decided to enter it!

I'll try and blog about it while I'm doing it, to keep me going. Who knows if I'll make the deadline, because I've certainly never written anything that long, especially not in one month only! But I'm going to try.

Well that's all for now, bye!

Some stuffs

Hey, I have to leave to go to my little brother's soccer game pretty soon, so I'm just gonna say a few things.

I have updated my blog playlist, added some things, deleted some things, and rearranged some things. (So you should listen to it).

One thing I've changed is the first song. It used to be Comatose, by Skillet-which is still one of my favorite songs- but now it's The Beauty of Grace by Krystal Meyers.
I was listening to that song on my iPod yesterday, I had listened to it before, but not very much, and for some reason it just stuck out. I mean, usually I had skipped that song because I thought I hadn't liked it or something, but when I was listening to it yesterday, it really touched me. I mean, one, it's a really good song musically, and two, the lyrics are true. I really like it.

So, you should please listen to it, or at least look up the lyrics and read them.

=D

Well I have to go empty the dishwasher, so bye for now! (check out the playlist)

So, I had a cold for the last couple days, but it's gone now. Yay! Good thing it didn't last very long. I'm SO glad.

Yesterday I went to see Bandslam with Jeremiah and Micaiah (WA cousins, both). It was really good! I liked it a lot. And since we went on a Wednesday afternoon when most people were in school, there were only, like, 3 other people in the theater. It was great. It's in the cheap theater too! So if you haven't seen it, then you should. Sometime. Maybe we could go together someday! And yes, I'm talking to whoever reads this, but usually only two people read it and I'd love to go with either of them.... =D.
LOL.

About sickness. Yes, I'm over it by now, but it got me thinking. I seem to get sick a lot, colds, at least. But whenever I get sick, even if it's not SO terribly bad, I usually either think it is, or act like it is. Or both, actually. Maybe because so often, being sick is an excuse of getting out of work. But then again, it's also something that can get you out of things you WANT to do! So I don't like being sick. But, who does?

Time for me to go now. There's work to do, and the boys are goofing off with the Xbox again. Not to blame them or anything, I've had my fair share of it too. ;)

Bye for now! Take me up on my offer to see the movie?

mood: blech

Listening to: um. the stuff my brother's playing. something weird.

lyrics of the day: "When the sun shines we'll shine together, told you I'll be here forever, said I'll always be a friend, took a oath I'ma stick it out till the end..."

Hey hey. Yup I have a cold. But I'm trying to not dwell on that fact... I really want to go see the movie Bandslam. It's in the cheap theaters now. BUT... I have a cold! Woohoo. So I can't. But I want to when I get better.

Yesterday we had a Labor day potluck at my house. Invited a bunch of families we know, mostly people from my church. I had friends who came, it was fun. I did have a cold then, too, though, so it wasn't as fun as it would be normally. Oh well. It's better than having the flu, I guess. Better than having Swine Flu! Ha ha. Just a cold.

So, I was gonna post some more stuffs, but I guess I'll just post some pictures. So you can see what I've been up to.

Oh, here's some pics I took at the fair... wow, that was pretty long ago, actually, wasn't it?

Hum hum.

Oh here's a few pics of friends from camp.

Yup. Pretty awesome peeps! And now, before I go, a lovely little quote...

Mood: tired, mellow
Currently listening to: oh, lemme put something on... "The Prodigal" by Josiah James. =D
Song lyrics of the day: "We met at a concert, you were wearing converse, I'm not good at playing it cool..." (stuck in my head almost all day)

Well well. I always start these posts off about the same, don't I? It seems like it me.
Kind of.
Maybe.
I guess.
Whatever.
Today my topic will be: the mall. Tada!
So, yesterday I went to Gateway mall with Kevin, my mom and Nathan. Except most with Kevin, because we split up and my mom and Nate went to Target and I went to Parables. We were getting birthday presents for Brian. ANYWAY... I was thinking. I like the mall. A lot. I mean, I don't think I used to like the mall as much as I do now. I just like the environment, I guess. I don't exactly know what. But I do like the fact that it has a bunch of good stores/food places in indoor walking (air-conditioned!) distance. That's DEFINITELY a plus!
But really, I mean, what's so attractive about the mall? Or is it just another store? Just another teenage hangout? I don't know. What do YOU think?

Gotta go. That's all for now.

REAL posting

So, you know, I haven't really been posting lately. Well, I mean, I've posted pictures and stuff, but not actual words... or at least, actual words that have meaning. So that what I'm gonna try and do. Not just life updates, but thoughts and stuff like that. I mean, it's a blog, I have to have some interesting stuff, right? But, lol, I actually gotta go do chores right now. xD
The irony. But, just to let you know, I will be posting actual stuff! ...Later.

Hey there everybody. How are you all doing? I'm good, besides being pretty worn out, but I'm still good.

Recently I've become fascinated with Photobucket. There's this type of picture on there, called Color Splashes, where basically, it's a black and white photo but part of it it in color. I've liked them for a long time, some of them can be REALLY pretty, but before a couple days ago, I didn't know how to make them. But then, I read something explaining how (you just do it on the Photobucket editing program) and I was overjoyed! Really. Ha ha. So, now whenever I'm on the computer, I'll usually be working on editing and making Color Splashes. I'm still not the best at it, since you need to have a good imagination, have good pictures, but most of all, be really precise. But I'm getting better with more practice. Here are some of my favorite color splashes (not done by me):

Aren't they great? I don't have any that good yet, but I'm working on it.

Yo. I haven't posted in a while, have I? Well, makes sense. I've been working at camp Harlow. I had the easiest and awesomest week!!

Yup. Also, yesterday I had my birthday party. I was gonna invite you, Micah and Shira, but since I thought I was also having the ice skating thing I though Shira could just come to that and I couldn't get ahold of Micah since she was at camp. Oh well. It was a lot of fun! I got cool presents too.
1. $15 dollar gift certificate for iTunes! Yeah, baby. I'm using it up right now!
2. Gummy worms- sour and regular, of course. YUM.
3. Three different colors of nail polish. All pretty!
4. Some incense sticks that smell AMAZING.
5. This really cool necklace! It's a fish, actually, but a really sweet looking one.
6. My very own copy of... The Host! Yay!! I had it checked out from the library (in chapter 4 still) but now I don't need their copy. I have my own!

Yeah, it was great. Had a lot of fun. We watched Miss Congeniality- funny movie!

Well bye for now! See yahs!

Ohh yeah. I have my very own iPod Touch! Yay! I'm so happy. And excited. It's wonderful. =)
My dad bought it from a person on Craig's List on Saturday, but they made me wait until I opened my birthday presents on Sunday with the family (which was funny, because I'm paying for almost all of it). But I didn't mind the wait TOO much. Oh, did I mention that we got it second hand so it was only 150 bucks? Ye-ah! Yay. =D

Oh, and guess what else is awesome? My little bro Nathan bought me a movie (Sleepover) on iTunes and I put it on my Touch.

AND I just placed a pre-order on the book Catching Fire with some of the money by brother Brian gave me!! Can't wait until September 1st, when it comes out. ^_^

Kevin and Shannon haven't gotten me anything yet, but I'm sure it'll be cool. Shannon usually gets me a book or something. Yay! No idea what Kevin will get me.

I also already got a game on my iPod (it was free, and I'm gonna get more free ones). It's a bubble wrap-popping simulator! So now whenever I have the urge, I can pop bubble after bubble of bubble wrap. Hehe. It's great.

So, yay! Things are going well. Yup. My cousin (guess which one? lol) is coming down to visit. Which is cool. I'm sure we'll have super awesome good times together. So I'm excited for that, too.

Toodles!

WOOT. Today's my birthday! Yay! I've been waiting... all year... for this! Ha ha. I'm finally 14. Gonna be a freshman. Wow.... that's cool!

So, yep, I got back from my trip yesterday with my little brother Nathan and my Uncle David (and my Aunt Suzanne and triplet cousins; Brooke, Erin, and Grace, but they rode in a different car). Kevin and my parents came back down here on Wednesday, since they- my mom especially, with her broken foot- were tired of traveling.

So Nathan and I went camping with my cousins. It was a bunch of fun, I have tons of pictures... but now I'm extremely tired!!

Well, that's all for now. Bye!

My day, today, that's Sunday!

>> Sunday, July 26, 2009

Well, I'm in Everett, WA right now! At the Brown's house. I've posted from here several times before, because usually when i have free time here, i spend it on the computer! What a fun hobby. =)
This morning I went to church like usual, except there was an unexpected surprise. Some friends of our family, the Harris's, are missionaries in Thailand, and two of them were at our church today to teach Sunday School and tell us about how they're doing. The dad, Rick, and his younger son, Paul (who's about 16). I haven't seen them for a long time, probably 2-4 years, so it was really nice seeing them! The mom and older son, Peter, weren't there, but I think they might be coming up later so possibly we'll see them then. I'm not sure. I just wish I had a bit more time to talk to Paul, since I probably won't see him again for several years, and we all know how shy I am (supposedly... ha ha) so even if I did have a small chance to talk to him, I didn't really take it. And of course, i regretted that while driving up here to WA! I'm so stupid sometimes. =P
Well. Anyway. I think that's all to say now... tomorrow and Tuesday we'll be doing some things with my grandma who lives nearby here, but I'm not sure what. Then on Wednesday down to Ridgefield. I'm very glad to be here, even though i'm ROASTING HOT!!!!!!
But of course it'd probably be the same at home.
Is it? Hot down there, i mean. I think I've heard that it is, via my friend Danielle's Facebook status.

See you all sometime! I will try and get together with you peeps sometime. SOON! =D

I'm leaving for Washington tomorrow, right after church. We'll be there until Friday. Relative time! Yay! I'm excited.
Yep, we're still going, even though my mom broke her foot. Did I mention that? Yep, she broke her foot, but is getting around with a combination of crutches, wheelchair, and this 'knee scooter' thingy that we rented. She says it doesn't hurt much, which is good!

I'll most likely be able to post while in WA. Well, probably not while in Ridgefield, from the 29th-31st, but I'll be having so much fun I won't care!! Hehehehe. =D

Tee hee. Girlyness.

So, I watched the movie The Thief Lord yesterday. I own it, and of course have seen it before, but I hadn't seen it in a while and I was bored, so I watched it.

Well, wow, I absolutely fell in love with the character of Scipio! (Hmm, I wonder if anybody reading this well have seen the movie or read the book?).
If you have, you must agree with me. He's really cute. ;)

Here is a picture of him: (and I love that mask! It's so cool!)

And one without his awesome mask on:

Haha. I'm feeling sooo girly right now, posting this. Of course, he's 22 years old now, so I think I'm a bit too young for him... lol. I really feel SO weird talking about this! But oh well.

I started reading the book a few years ago, but never finished it. I mean, it was good, but that was back when I wasn't so much into reading and was a pretty slow reader. I think my sister owns the book, I'm going to borrow it from her. =)

Well have a good life, everyone! Hope you enjoyed my silly girly-ness! =P

Mood: feeling extremely good
Listening to: Disturbia by Rihanna
Song lyrics for the day: "today's the day for letting by and chilling out, you're busy doing nothing all day long oh yeah, and now you're smiling, don't ever let the feeling go ... trying to let off steam, and dream a little dream ... today's the day"

Oh my goodness... I really have been neglecting this blog, haven't I? Oopsie. Well, here goes, time for catching up...

I've been very busy. Yes, VERY busy. Here is my list of activities I have been doing for this month:
July
5th-10th: Working as a CAP at Camp Harlow. Amazing, awesome experience, I met tons of great people and can't wait until the next camp so I can continue to get to know them better.
11th: Homeschool teen party/went to Fisher's house. That's the day we had our loverly adventure with driving the car into a ditch...
12th: Went to my best friend's house and planned who would bring what props to VBS. Then watched 27 Dresses and went to youth group.
13th-17th: Worked at VBS from 9-11:30 (a.m. of course) every day. On Tuesday I also had a dentist appointment (btw, if you don't right now, FLOSS YOUR TEETH!!). Wednesday I went to a party at my friend's house. It was for everyone in our band, but not too many people came... it was a lot of fun, still.
18th-19th: Went to Camp Dwight with Shannon and Nathan. Had a lot of fun spending time with them and with my friends. I spent most of my time with Esther, Christy, Liz, Ryan, and also sometimes Daniel, Abigail, Ben, and some other people too. But mostly those first 4 people. And my siblings, of course.

And today is the 20th! Finally I have some time to spend at home and just CHILL. I know that Camp Veneta is going on all this week, and I might go for a day or two, but I doubt it... it does sound like a LOT of fun, though, hope you all have a great time if you're going!
So, yup, this week is my time to rest up. Stay at home. Have some down time.

Because next week my whole family is going up to Washington to visit relatives. We're leaving the 26th and coming home on the 31st... the day before my birthday! That reminds me, hope everyone likes the plan of ice skating... and I really hope we can work it out!

Oh, also, on Wednesday I got a haircut! The length is the same, but I have bangs now. =)

Well, I don't really know what else to say... might post a bit more in a little while. See yah!

I have some other stuff to say, but I totally forgot to post this, so I will now (this is mainly for Alice's benefit):

So when I went to the beach I randomly had this thought- I think I know why I don't like Edward as much as I did when I first read the books. It's because I hate Robert Pattinson! I mean, I just don't like him. Plus, he's not hot at all, and he CANNOT sing. But I DO like Taylor Lautner, so that just makes Jacob better for me and Edward worse... yeah. But Edward (not Rob's version of Edward) is still TOTALLY awesome.

Okay. Just had to put that out there! Now I gotta go. But will post later!

Beach day!!

>> Wednesday, July 1, 2009

Yo. I went to the beach today with Nathan, my parents, and Uncle Alan. We picked up my dad at his work around 11 or 11:30 and we were off! First we drove to Honeyman park and had a picnic. It was COLD (or at least, I was cold!). Then we drove to the North Jetty (beach) where it was SOO windy. I'm serious. A few times, it almost blew me over! But it was fun. Then we drove a ways more and impulsively stopped at another beach, which was a good choice! It was really beautiful, and actually very warm! I even took my sweatshirt off. And it wasn't too windy, either. I really liked it there, we stayed for a long time and explored. I took lots of pictures. ^_^
And now I'm home again, pretty tired, but not ready to go to bed... yup yup.

We were supposed to have movie night tonight at Shannon's house, but Esther forgot and went hiking, and I wasn't home until 7:00. So I think we'll probably do it tomorrow...

oh! Happy first day of July! July... wow. My birthday is in exactly one month!! Yay! Awesome. =)

Well bye for now!

Dude, I totally forgot to mention a few things in my last post. So here I am again, being weird...
1. I changed the author of this blog so now it's Megan instead of Angela, just so the people who don't know my nickname is Angela won't be confused... but on the DA I still have my Angela account. Yup.

2. I added more music to the playlist, not that it matters much... oh, btw, on the blog playlist if you click "pop-out player" (which you can kind of see sort of) then you can scroll down. Just thought I'd put that out there...

3. I went swimming in our pool today for the very first time! We got it set up on Sunday with the help of Shira and Adam (thanks, guys) and today Nathan and I actually swam in it. =D
It was pretty cold, but still fun. Yay! It's SUMMER!!!

Welp I think that's all, so bye bye now!

Hey hey hey hey. I'm doing pretty good. Like the story I posted yesterday? I'm not sure if it's any good, you tell me! I just wrote it with the feature song "Leave out all the rest" stuck in my head... which is why it was feature. =P
I submitted it to Teen Ink also, but they take a while to accept it, so who knows if they will or not... I read this really interesting story on Teen Ink the other day, also. It's written in a really different style, but I liked it. Here's a link:

http://www.teenink.com/Fiction/article/86180/Improvising/

So, maybe read it and see what you think! I'm gonna try and submit some of my pictures to that site, too. Maybe the new poem I wrote... even though it was pretty stupid!! Hehe.

Me, Nathan, Kevin, and my mom went cherry picking earlier today! Yeah. I love cherry picking, it's so much fun. And there were a lot of berries on the trees, too! Note for future: never go cherry picking when you're hungry. Like I did today! I ate SOO many, but managed to pick a lot too. I LOOOOVE fruit!

Well, I think i'll stop being weird now (meaning that I'll just stop talking for a while). Ta ta!

A dream come true

>> Monday, June 29, 2009

"And don't resent me, and when you're feeling empty, keep me in your memory, leave out all the rest, leave out all the rest..." The melody of my favorite song played over and over through my headphones as I made my way through another day at work. Sorting books, putting them on shelves, the life of a library volunteer wasn't the most exciting thing I could have chosen. "But, it'll look good on work applications," I reminded myself for the 50th time, "...I think. Why couldn't I have chosen a job where there's some interaction with other workers??"

Bam! At that exact moment, the door to my seclusion flew wide open. Dust scattered everywhere, a few stray papers fluttered across the floor. "Ow!" was all I could say, "Bright.. light!"

"Sorry," a male voice called out from the doorway. I could see his silhouette well, but my eyes were still blinded. "Don't you ever turn on the light in here? Or maybe dust a little?" he asked.

"I just work here," I persisted, annoyed at, well, whoever this intruder was. "Will you close that door? And besides, the light was turned on. You must have flicked the switch or something, when you flung open that door. Going for dramatic entrance? Well, I have to give it to you, it worked." He chuckled, deep and throaty, and shut the door behind him. For a few seconds, we were enveloped in darkness. For a minute or so, I was worried. Why isn't he turning on the light? Who IS he, and what is he doing?? I thought, conjuring up all the worst possible scenarios. But then I heard a short *click* and, thank you electricity, the room was flooded with light. "Much better." I muttered.

Trying to get back to my job, I grabbed another stack of cataloged books, and proceeded to set them on the right carts. Footsteps. Closer. Then a pair of sneakers appeared before my eyes, white sneakers, about a size 10, I estimated. Before the library, I had worked in a shoe store. The feet stayed still for a while. I picked up some more books. Then on of the toes started tapping. Rather irritated, I brought my head up jerkily to look at the face of whoever had entered this back room. I set my eyes to "power glare" and bore down upon him. But I wasn't prepared for what I saw. Black hair, blue eyes, a marvelous face and square chin. He was tall, too, over 6 foot, I guessed. The glare faltered. My mouth hung open a bit, but I clamped it shut. He started grinning, looking devilish and yet angelic at the same time. Who IS he?? I wondered yet again. But this time I voiced my thoughts.

"Who are you?" I asked bluntly, for lack of better words to say.

"I'm your dream come true," was all he came back with. His voice was deep, caressing, and I fell in love with it immediately. How well would he sing? I wondered. That thought I didn't say out loud, though.

"A dream come true. Right. Look, could you please explain a bit more? And I should probably get back to work... don't want to get, I dunno, fired. Can a volunteer get fired? I guess so. Yeah, they can. That's what happened to Kerry, I'm pretty sure..." Oops. I was rambling. Always acting stupid around handsome guys, that's me!

"I'm a volunteer," he said, picking up a few books and surprisingly putting them onto the correct carts, "just like you. Don't stand there- get to work! Mr. Carter hired me, said you could use a hand, and some company. Now that I meet you, though, I'm not so sure about that. You seem to be doing a pretty good job, just you and your iPod. What is that, a Classic?"

"Nano." I was surprised. Mr. Carter had never seemed to notice me, or care about me, and I certainly never asked for an assistant. Wished, yes, but never asked. "What's your name?" I blurted out.

"Matt. Yours? What kind of music do you have on there, anything good?"
I had so many questions, about him, about who he was and where he lived, and just everything, but all I did was answer.

"I'm Kacey. You can think up a nickname if you want, but whatever you do, don't pick Kace. And yes, I think I have good music, but that depends on what defines "good". My good might be far different from your good."

"Cool. Not Kace? Why not? How about.. Kay Kay, does that work for you? Or just Kay? What artists do you have on there? What generation Nano is it? You're still just standing there..." The rest of the day went in quite a similar way. He peppered me with questions, we discussed many topics. He didn't seem to mind my dry humor, my sarcastic tone, like Kerry had when she tried working with me. I actually wondered some days if she got fired on purpose because she didn't enjoy my company. Matt was the exact opposite. We started by discussing music, questions about when I got my iPod, how much I enjoyed it, why Linkin Park was my favorite band, why 'Leave Out All The Rest' was my favorite song, and so on and so on. We talked movies, books, work, just life! I even asked a few questions in edgewise. Matt didn't reveal many details about himself, though; I guess I didn't mind. I was enthralled, captivated, and not just by those blue eyes and wavy hair. But I did have to admit to myself, he sure was fine looking. But also I was interested in his view on things. Politics, government, the media. Life in general. He had a kind of zest about him, a passion for everyday things. By the time 5:00 rolled around, I didn't want to leave the dusty back room I used to think of as a prison- as long as Matt didn't leave either. But all too soon, he needed to leave. "Give me your phone number?" He asked. I readily consented. "Do you text?" Another question of his.

"Of course," I replied, "I mean, who doesn't?"

Matt smiled at me again, showing pearly white teeth, lined up in a row. He must have had braces as a child.

Finally, I couldn't help myself, I had to ask. "Will I see you tomorrow? Here, at work, I mean."

He walked out the door, leaving me with one parting thought: "Maybe."

Later that evening, at maybe 5:30, I found myself standing outside Mr. Carter's office, knocking on the door. "Come in!" He shouted.

"Hi, Carter," I said, going inside and shutting the glass door behind me. "I'd like a bit of information... that new guy you hired, Matt, do you know his last name? And phone number?"

My boss looked confused, muddled, and somewhat like a dog as he shook his head and said to my shock and dismay, "I don't know what you're talking about, Kacey. I haven't hired anyone new since Mrs. Henderson left. But we're looking for another volunteer to take her place at the desk..." The rest o his sentence never hit my ears. Then who really was Matt? I questioned myself over and over, extremely worried by then. I jumped as my phone went *beep beep beep*, the signal that I got a new text. Reading it, I almost fainted.

From: Matt M.

Subject: Dream come true

How you doing, Kacey? I've never met a girl like you. In a good way, of course. Here's a picture of us to remember me by. I snapped it when you weren't looking, remember? I won't be coming back to work anytime soon. Miss you already.

Yours, Matt.

The whole rest of my drive home, I was breathless. Who was he? What did he want? I was so confused. All I could think was... he really had been a dream come true.

Any good movies lately?

>> Saturday, June 27, 2009

Ahh, I'm so exhausted from staying up late at Bella's party. But I'd never seen Bride and Prejudice before, so I tried very hard to stay awake. And I did for most of it. Probably not a good idea... I keep needing naps. =P
Annoying. But oh well, it was SO much fun!

Anyone seen any good movies lately? I watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom for the first time today. It was pretty gross... but good, too! I also watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (or whatever the first one is called) for the, like, 10th time. But I never get tired of that movie! It rocks.

I don't really have much to post... oh, I need to email Bells a quote. Guess I'll do that now.

Hello. I started reading a new book yesterday, called The Warrior Heir. I saw it at Smith Family Bookstore and it looked interesting, so I had my sister check it out at the library for me. I've read a couple chapters, and it's pretty good! It has a cool plot. There's also a sequel and several other books that come after it, like, The Wizard Heir and The Dragon Heir. Anyone heard of them? I like it. It's on my bookshelf on the blog, so you can read a summary if you want. Can't wait to find out what happens next! What have you all been reading?

One- I made it public again. Private, I dunno, I just didn't like it as much, I guess. And I want my little brother to be able to read it, and he doesn't have an account.
Two- changed the name and description, just for fun.
Three- changed the background again. I'll be doing that often, just to spice things up a bit.
Four- Added a bookshelf thingy just so everyone can know what I'm currently reading. Again, just for fun!

Yep yep. Well, I had stuff to say, but I don't remember any of it, so I'm gonna go now.

Yeah, baby.

SCHOOL'S OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it- wait, yes I can! Last day of band Thursday. Testing yesterday. Hoo boy. I'm so happy. I am going to be doing some school during the summer, but not much. Just finishing up my science and doing math. But I'm skipping up to the Algebra 1/2 (pre-Algebra) math book and my mom will just teach me the stuff I don't know how to do. So I'm glad I'm doing that.

The last day of band... I had several different emotions about that.
1. Excitement; it meant that summer's almost here!
2. Relief; finally finished, no more practicing.
But also,
3. Sadness; it was my very last day EVER.

Because I'm not doing Logos anymore. There's so many people that I won't see again, and I'm going to miss seeing them every week! I already do miss some of them! My other friends who aren't going back next year felt the same way. It's going to be so different...

oh right, which brings me to some news. I might be doing band next year, at Creswell High School! We haven't even looked into it yet, really, but it is an option that we're considering. That'd be fun... I think.

I went to a graduation today. Lauren Bennion. Their family has been friends with mine for a while. Her sister Hannah (who's about my age, a little older) wrote Lauren a song for her graduation, which she preformed for us (guitar and singing). It was SOOO good. I was amazed. Loved it. Graduations also bring out both happy and sad feelings... and lots of memories.

Well that's all for now. Bye!

Wowsa

>> Tuesday, June 9, 2009

Wow, I barely ever post on here, do I? Hmm. Sorry about that! I have been pretty busy lately.

Yay! School's almost over! My official last day of band is this Thursday. WOOHOO! I'll be done with Logos for FOREVER. It'll be such a crazy feeling. I've been going there for 4 whole years! Wowsa. And then testing on Friday... and that's it! Done! Finito! Except for the frightening fact that I'll have to do math during the summer or otherwise I'll be 2 years behind. Blech. Not fun at all. But I'll have plenty of other summer activities, so I guess it's not TOO bad.

My final concert is tonight, and then after that there's an award ceremony. I hate the final concert, because I have to go there up in front of everyone and have Mrs. N talk about me and give me an award... I went to the middle school concert yesterday, and seeing all the kids up there getting their awards reminded me of how much I hate it! Going up there in front of so many people. Grr. Scary... oh well, I'm going second in line, so I can go and sit down pretty soon. At least I'm not last. Or first! Second's fine with me!! And I don't think I'll get any special award or something. I wasn't very prominent in band this year. Hallelujah! =P

On Saturday my family (Shannon, Brian, Kevin, me, Nathan, and my parents) went on a picnic at Shotgun park to celebrate my mom's birthday which was on the 1st of June. It was pretty fun- not too cold, not too wet. On Friday I went over to the Hamovitz's house and spent the night. I was SOO exhausted for some strange reason. We did watch movies until 2 a.m. (we watched Benny and Joon, Ella Enchanted, and Camp Rock), but that's not the strange part. See, I was really tired all Friday afternoon, but then, when we were watching the movies into the middle of the night, I wasn't tired!! And then the next morning, I was tired again. I was tired all day Saturday, and even MORE tired on Sunday. It wasn't very pleasant. And then on Sunday I had a really bad headache, so I skipped youth group again... hehe.
Headaches are no fun.

Um, I can't really think of anything else to say... oh, I went to Shannon's house on Wednesday and joined her and our cousin Lisa and my friend Esther for their weekly movie night. It was the first time Esther and I were invited, and it was a lot of fun. We watched Penelope. It was funny! The preview for it looks really weird, but the movie was actually pretty good. I liked it. We had a good time.

Tomorrow I might be going to Smith Family Bookstore with Kevin, Andrew, Katie, and (I dunno how to spell her name) Miri (sp?). Except it looks like Andrew might not be able to go, so I'm not sure if we'll go or not. After the bookstore, we're planning to go to some smoothie shop.
(For those of you who don't know, Andrew is a friend of ours, Katie is a friend of Kevin's, and Miri is Katie's 14 year old sister. I haven't met Katie or Miri yet, but I think I'll meet them tonight)
If we don't go, then I'll go to Shannon's again for movie night.

Well, gotta go, chores await me...

bye!

COME!! YOU MUST COME!!

>> Wednesday, June 3, 2009

Yep, here I am, giving YOU and only you (and whoever else I happen to invite....) an exclusive invitation (okay, maybe just a normal invitation...) to my concert next week! It is on Tuesday the 9th at 6:30 and there'll be a reception afterward.
Here's a link to the google maps to Immanuel Baptist Church, where it's held:

http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF-8&q=immanuel+baptist+church,+springfield,+or&fb=1&split=1&gl=us&cid=18048756696643724854&li=lmd

So, everyone please come I really want you to even if I sound horrible! And maybe come 10 or 15 minutes early, that way you can get a good seat and say hi to me!

Okay, now for other stuff besides trying to promote my final concert...

life has been going well. My days are normal but fun, and my weeks are getting pretty busy with end-of-school stuff. My last day of school is next Thursday (not tomorrow), and homeschool testing is the day after that. Not looking forward to the test.... ugh. Math. Yuck. Gonna fail it.

Um, I dunno what else has been going on, so I'm gonna post my favorite picture in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD (well, sorta). Here it is!

Ahh! It makes me so happy! It's me and my fave cousins. =)
Us all in the 13-16 age group. Us cousins who hang out together all the time. Yeah, I love it. =D
Oh, the peeps from left to right is: Me, Mark, Jer, Will, and Karen.
Aren't we cute? Why'd that have to change??

Tonight I'm going to my sister's house for a movie night. Her (Shannon) and our cousin Lisa have a movie night every Wednesday and they recently invited me and my friend Esther to join them. Not sure what we're watching, maybe A Walk To Remember? I don't think they've decided. But it'll be fun.

Gotta go practice the flute a bit more.

Bye!

Why yes, it's a Friday.

>> Friday, May 29, 2009

It is a Friday, right? Um, oh yeah, yes it is :P

So, I am trying to come up with interesting stuff so that Nathan will keep reading my blog... he seemed to like the post where I said that I speared my hand on a fork, but nothing else like that has happened, so... sorry! Anyway, here's what's going on about my life in general:
tomorrow I'm going to Nate's last soccer game, but I'll probably have to skip the BBQ afterwards, because I'll need to rush off to Julianna and Jenna Han's senior recital/graduation. I'm realllly excited for that! They're such awesome people and OH-SO-TALENTED!! Yep. And my friends will be going. =D
And I might get to go ice-skating and spend the night at a friend's house afterwards.
So yep I'm pretty dang excited!

Another exciting thing is that NATE and I are co-authoring a book!!! He came up with the plot idea- and it's totally awesome. I'm helping him write it (and I'm doing the typing- I'm faster and better at grammar than he is!). So far we only have a paragraph, but we hope to make it a whole book, the plot is kind of complicated. Hope we can work more on that soon.

See yah!

Memorial Day!

>> Monday, May 25, 2009

Hey everybody, hope you all had a pleasing weekend (I know I did). And, happy Memorial Day! Yay for no school, no work, and fun with family and friends (for me, at least...)!

Is everyone having happy memories? I sure hope you are, because it's time for a little game:

I want everyone who reads this and is up to it- come on, it's not hard, people- to post a comment leaving one memory (like, maybe one of the BEST memories) that you've had with me. It doesn't have to be just with me only, but if I was there and we were doing something together, even if it was in a group, then that's fine! Can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Now, about my weekend: Friday afternoon, my parents left for an anniversary trip to eastern Oregon, around Bend area, I think (?). On their way, they dropped me and Nathan off in Pleasant Hill at a friend's house. We (Nate & I) both stayed there until after church on Sunday!! It was so much fun. I watched The Incredible Hulk for the first time. Loved it!! I also got to eat a ton of yummy food- Subway, DQ, Izzy's, candy, Pepsi, Ice Cream, Popsicles.... I felt like a total pig! (But it did taste good) Ha ha ha.

And today, I'm going to a BBQ at the Sundhom's house. They're friends of out family, and I really like them all a lot! They' awesome people. So I can't wait for that!!

Well, that's about all for now, I think, unless I come up with a poem or pic or something to post. Ohh, I got it.

Here's something::

<< Me feeding my cousin's sheep last week.

Well that's all for now, ttfn all of you out there!!

FORKS!!!!

>> Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Wow, something exciting happened today!!

So, I was just emptying the dishwasher, like I do every morning.
Nothing unusual there.

But then, I dropped a spoon (well, nothing unusual there either), and so I quickly reached down to grab it before it hit the floor.

And, as I was reaching down....

I SPEARED MY HAND ON THE POINTY TINES OF A FORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah! It was exciting (and very painful!) It doesn't really hurt anymore, though.

See you all later, have a great day!

Wow, I haven't posted in quite a while. Guess that means this should be a long post, to make up for it. Sigh...

anyway. On Friday, I went up with my mom to visit relatives that live in Ridgefield, Washington. It was nice to see them again. Also, a VERY nice thing is that my cousin Bethany and her 1-year old son, Aleric, were visiting! They live in Missouri, and I hadn't seen them since last summer. Aleric was so much bigger, and SUCH a cutie!!

Here's some pics of him:

Adorable, right? I know, I know. Well, I have to go now, but will post more in a few days. Probably tomorrow.

I have a headache, but besides that, I'm pretty happy today. I just looked at a bunch of pictures that a friend's boyfriend took when he took her to prom. It made me happy.
=)
They're so cute together!! I still haven't met him though... I will in June.

I don't really have anything interesting to post, so I'll do what I usually do when I don't have anything interesting:

post pictures!! These ones are some random pictures I took around my house, and up in the woods. I love photographing nature...

A touching poem

Slow Dance

This
is a poem
written by a teenager with cancer.

She wants to
see how many
people get her poem.

It is quite the poem
Please pass it
on.

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a
New York Hospital .

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever
watched
kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a

butterfly's erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the
fading night?

You better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Do you run through each day

On the fly?

When you ask How are you?

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through
your head?

You'd better
slow down

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good
friendship die

Cause you
never had time

To call and say,'Hi'

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

When you run
so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of
getting there.

When you worry and hurry
through your day,

It is like an unopened gift....

Thrown away.

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower

Hear the music
Before the song is
over
.

Dear All:
PLEASE pass this mail on to everyone you know -
even to those you don't
know! It is the request of a special girl who will soon
leave this world
due to cancer.

This young girl has 6 months left
to live,
and as her dying wish, she wanted to send a letter telling everyone to

live their life to the fullest, since she never will.

She'll
never make it to prom, graduate from high school,
or get married and have a
family of her own.

Private-osity

Okay, due to the requests of several people, I've made my blog so you can only read it if you're invited. If you know anyone who wants invited, then they should just tell me, and I'll invite them.

For now, I just invited some of my friend who I thought might possibly want to read my boring old self...
yeah.

Okay, so, yesterday I went to the musical that Becky was in, D**n Yankees (let's just call it Darn Yankees, okay??). It was really good! Funny, with good acting and good songs.

One of my favorite parts was seeing a friend's older brother (along with some other people) sing a song about "The Game" (the baseball game). It was, in one word- hilarious!!

Yep. Besides that, school, and working on the surprise, nothing much has been going on.
Oh, tonight I'm going to a game night for youth group, since they're not having it on Sunday (because of Mother's Day). At least, I'm probably going.

See you all later!

(oh, another reminder, if anybody doesn't know what pandora.com is- check it out!!)

Indeed, it is Thursday.

>> Thursday, May 7, 2009

Yuck, I have a piano lesson today that I REALLY don't want to go to. Mostly because I've only practiced once this whole week- and I hate piano lessons!

Nate and I have been working (since yesterday) on a surprise for Mother's Day. I can't tell what it is, though, because... it's a surprise!!

Oh oh oh, I took this "Are You Obsessed With Twilight" quiz on Myspace and guess what I got-
I am 100% obsessed with Twilight!
Ha ha ha. It was funny. I actually didn't think I'd get that result.

I also took a quiz (not on Myspace) about "when will you get married" and it says that I'll get married at age 32. Okay, I guess... I was hoping it'd be before that. But whatever. Nobody really believes those things, anyway.
But they're so much FUN!!

Tonight I'm going to a musical that my friend Becky is in. I'm really excited, because I'm going with some friends, and ever if I wasn't I'd still be excited! Becky has an AMAZING voice, and I love going to plays, concerts, musicals, that sort of thing. So it's all good.

I've been working on making a book cover for Buried. I'm not too good at it- I used Paint, and it looks kind of weird. Maybe I should find a different program...

well, gotta go, hope everyone didn't fall asleep reading my mindless (and pointless) ramblings, if anyone even read it.

Bye!

What a tiring weekend

>> Monday, May 4, 2009

Yep, the title says a lot.

I had a tiring weekend!

Friday was Nathan's birthday party (and birthday) and two of my friends came over and spent the night, and we watched several girly movies (Miss Congeniality, Ice Princess, Ella Enchanted, Camp Rock...).

Then, on Saturday, from 2-4 was the Women's Tea at my church. That was a bunch of fun.

But after that, I went to the Hamovit'z house to spend the night (and we watched more girly movies)!! We only got 3 hours of sleep.

On Sunday was church, of course, but then after THAT was Nathan's family birthday party!

VERRRY busy week.

Gotta go now! Bye!

Tiredness of life. Such a busy Friday...

>> Friday, April 24, 2009

Eh. I'm SOOO tired right now. I got up at 6 A.M. this morning to get ready to go on DAY TOUR!!! Woohoo. It was my first time doing it- a new experience. Here's how the day went:

7:30 am: Arrived at Logos. Waited outside in the cold until Mrs. N got there and let us inside the much warmer (but still cold) building. Then we sat around for a while, did a little work, like loading the music stands and drums, until it was time to leave.

Around 8:00 am: Drove from Springfield to Pleasant Hill. The car was nice and warm. I rode in a 15-passenger band with most of my friends- and most of the band, too! The only people who didn't go in the big van were Ben, Sarah, and Star. Everyone who was in the van was (in order of seats- yes, I know, I like listing stuff...):
Back row: Daniel R, Esther/Megan S (they switch now and then), me.
Next row up: Michael, Dillon, Christy
Second row: OKAY DANG I CAN'T REMEMBER!!, Emily, Jessie (who's not in our band, she was the photographer)
First row: Aaron, Jake, Sean
Driver: Mrs. N
Passenger Seat: Daniel P
Aren't I great? I remembered everyone's seat... except one!! I just can't remember who sat next to Emily!

Anyway....

8:45: We preformed at Emerald Christian Academy in Pleasant Hill. I knew 4 people who go there!! It was fun, and we did pretty well, I guess.

Next we went to Briarwood Retirement Center (I'm giving up on the times by now) and listened to the Emerald Christian Academy kids play their music. After that, we played out songs again.

Then, lunch! We were all so hungry. My stomach was growling. We went to Carl's Junior and ate yummy food. =)
I got some coupons for donating a dollar to this breast cancer research thingy. I think my name will be hanging up somewhere in there on a paper star...

Last, but not least, we went to Lifegate Christian Academy. And preformed there. By the time we got there, we were all pretty tired, but we still did pretty well. I knew 1 or 2 people who were there... and then the Pearsons drove me to my dad's work where I read Black for an hour until he took me home.

And now I'm absolutely tired!! I'm gonna go eat dinner and watch some tv. Monk, probably.

Bye for now!! It's been a busy day.
Hope you enjoy your lives!
